TOKYO FOOD TOUR: DINNER IN ASAKUSA

Tokyo Food Experience: Dinner in Asakusa

Experience Japanese Nightlife & IZAKAYA Culture

Want to experience the exciting nightlife in Japan? People in Japan have a long history of enjoying drinking. Just like any of the western pubs, saloons and taverns, an Izakaya (a type of Japanese bar) is a casual place for after work drinking with colleagues and bosses. Izakaya serve a variety of dishes from Chicken Karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken), Yakitori (chicken skewers), edamame, grilled fish, French fries, Sashimi, Sushi, Nabe (Japanese hotpot), salad and many others.

Why Izakaya culture is the norm in Japan

Izakaya culture is a form of entertainment in Japan. Even if you do not drink, you will still find yourself enjoying the food and the atmosphere. Particularly, for businessmen, it allows them to care less about hierarchical relationships outside the office. Everyone gets closer, friendlier, and it can be useful to understand who your colleagues are and their typical mindset while they are off work.

To give you a deeper insight into the Izakaya culture, during our Food Tour we will take you to not one, but two of the most outstanding Izakaya bars in the area!

What is more, we will take you to taste some of the most delicious Japanese sweets for dessert!

The tour will start around 7:30 pm and end around 10:00. You will be met and picked up at a station in Central Tokyo. Once we confirm your reservation, we will contact you with the details.

The local people were all very down-to-earth and friendly! It made me feel like I was part of them too despite the language barrier.
