What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi literally means ‘gold repair’. It refers to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer.

 

At the root of Kintsugi is the concept of embracing the flawed or imperfect. Repairing an object in this way is seen as giving it a new life.

 

※ During this workshop you will experience joining broken pottery pieces together and bonding them according to your own aesthetic sense. After the activity you can bring your finished work home as a souvenir.
